The aim of the project is to support communities in planning, designing and constructing effective, reliable, cost efficient and custom made waste water treatment system. The solutions that were established after the tsunami proofed to be inadequate. The construction of a DEWATS-CBS site with an attached biogas digester have provided the 1548 people and 378 families that reside in East Devadanam a much cleaner environment and a healthier life. Further DEWATS sites in other effected villages are planned.
